FAQ — The Crews Inn

CHECK IN, CHECK OUT TIMES

Check in is 3:00 p.m. or whenever the room is ready. Check out is 11:00 a.m.

BREAKFAST

Breakfast is served between 8:00 and 9:30 on the screened porch, weather permitting, or in the dining room. Coffee is ready by 7:00. If you won’t be having breakfast or have special dietary needs, please let us when making a reservation or when you arrive.

INTERNET ACCESS

Complimentary WiFi is provided.

AIR CONDITIONING

Each of the five guest rooms has window units for air conditioning during the warmer months. Because they can cool the room quickly, please turn them off when leaving for long periods of time or checking out. Thanks for helping us save energy.

HEAT

Rooms are heated by electric baseboard heaters. The thermostat is located at the end of the heater and can be turned up by rotating the dial clockwise. Please turn off the heat when leaving for long periods of time or when checking out.

LIGHTS

Electricity conservation on a remote barrier island is important. When away or not needed, please turn off lights in your room or other areas of the house.

KEYS

Most of our rooms have keys (if you need one, let us know). The main house doors are always open. You can always lock your room once inside.

KITCHEN USAGE

You may use the microwave or prepare light lunches. We cannot accommodate use of the kitchen for full meals. Help yourself to ice and feel free to store items in our refrigerator and remember to write your name on these items. We also store some of our breakfast items like milk and juice in the kitchen refrigerator. These items are available during breakfast only. Please let us know if you have special dietary needs.

OUTDOOR SHOWER

Sandy and hot after a long afternoon at the beach? Try our large outdoor shower with hot and cold water located off the kitchen's back porch.

PETS

The Crews Inn cannot accommodate pets.

SMOKING

ALL Crews Inn rooms are non-smoking. Smoking is permitted on the porches ONLY.

PAYMENT

We accept personal checks, cash, and all major credit cards.

TELEVISION

There are no televisions at the inn.

TOWELS

To conserve water, we will leave the request for fresh towels and other linens to you.

BICYCLES

Bikes can be rented in several places in the village.

TAXES

Nightly rate does not include 6.75% NC sales tax and 5% Hyde County occupancy tax.

Off-Season Rates

Wea offer off-season rates from November 1 until March 31 are $80 (taxes included) for any room in the main inn and $100 for Mary’s Cottage.

Gift Certificates

Looking for a unique gift for a special person in your life? Crews Inn Gift Certificates are available for any dollar amount and can be emailed out the same day of purchase. Gifting an experience, rather than more things, makes for a thoughtful, one-of-a-kind birthday, anniversary, graduation, or holiday present. Call or email us with the details, and we will customize it for you.

Whole House Rental

Interested in renting all five rooms, including kitchen privileges, for that family gathering or special event? Please inquire about rates and availability. Lower rates may be available November through March.

CANCELLATION POLICY

If you must cancel your reservation, you will not be charged if you contact us and cancel seven days prior to your scheduled arrival. If your cancellation is made seven days or less prior to arrival, you will be charged for one night of your reservation. Arrival day cancellation or a no-show will be charged for the entire amount of the reservation.
